Teak (Tectona grandis) is a tall evergreen tree with yellowish-blonde to reddish-brown wood, primarily grown in Southeast Asia, and is an excellent choice for outdoor furniture.

Teak is unique in its stability & durability, and requires little care; articles made with Teak bear up very well where weather resistance is desired. Teak wood contains an essential oil that resists the action of water and prevents the rusting of iron.

It is a moderately hard wood that is easily worked and its natural oils make it suitable for use in exposed locations where it weathers well - even when not treated with oil or varnish.
